tonight we're going to plant the makings for bruschetta!!
the tomato seeds need to stay indoors for 6-8 weeks...keep them moist and before transplanting, move them to a sheltered area outside for about a week to 'harden off' and then plant them where they'll receive full sun.
according to the package, fruit should be ready in about 80 days...so what's that? july-ish?
for the basil, they can go in the ground, in full sun, once the danger of frost has passed...or just keep them in the house in a sunny spot to harvest year-round.
this is the recipe I sent home.
or...if you don't want bruschetta...make salsa!! use cilantro instead and save the basil for making pesto. salsa recipes can be found
